What an incredible moment it was to stand on stage at the recent KloudConnect User Group event and recognize the outstanding achievements of our utility and public sector partners. As I presented KloudGin Innovation Awards to Arizona Public Service (APS), the City of Waco, Madison Gas & Electric, Snohomish County PUD, Veolia, and Louisville Water Company, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride – not just in our technology, but in the remarkable community we’ve built together.
More Than Technology: A Partnership in Innovation
The energy at KloudConnect was electric and inspiring. Listening to Michael Ribordy from APS share how they discovered KloudGin at a conference, then took the time to visit customers like Madison Gas & Electric in the middle of a Wisconsin winter to hear them validate their decision – that’s the kind of partnership we’ve always envisioned. When customers become advocates, recommending solutions not because they have to but because they genuinely believe in the value, you know you’ve built something special.

Louisville Water’s Obe Everett embodies this spirit as a passionate believer in the power of KloudGin’s Single Face of Work® – unifying field and asset management across all work groups, work types, and asset types. What struck me most is that Obe and customers like him aren’t just sharing talking points – they’re sharing genuine experiences about how this deep partnership continues to shape the platform that has transformed their operations. When a utility leader tells you that KloudGin is “the least problematic solution” they have to monitor, and that they can call other customers for honest feedback, that’s the foundation of a true community.
The Power of Peer-to-Peer Learning
What made this KloudConnect User Group different was the clear and positive impact of the KloudGin network, both on customer-to-customer interactions and on KloudGin’s product development and innovation. Lisa Tyer from the City of Waco described how a simple call to Louisville Water Company convinced them that KloudGin was “like the Oracle product, but easier to implement and better to work with.” Brianne Ramsey from Snohomish County PUD detailed their organization’s collaborative approach to developing KloudGin’s SAP integration, not merely as a custom implementation, but as an integral product solution that would benefit the entire SAP customer community.
This is exactly the kind of collaboration that drives innovation for our entire community. When customers push us to develop features like multi-state optimization, work packets for solar installations, or enhanced scheduling capabilities, they’re not just solving their own challenges – they’re helping us build solutions that benefit every organization using our platform.
The Single Face of Work®: From Vision to Reality
The concept of “Single Face of Work” originated from something one of our customers said years ago. When asked what KloudGin meant to their organization, they simply stated: “KloudGin is a single face of work for us – any work, regardless of type.” That phrase became our trademark and, more importantly, our north star.
Today, we’re seeing this vision realized across our customer network. The City of Waco initially implemented KloudGin for its utility operations and is now expanding the solution across nearly every field and asset operating department in the city. Madison Gas & Electric unified its asset management and field operations into a single, flexible platform, eliminating workgroup silos. APS uses KloudGin for everything from meter services to solar installations across its vast service territory.

Â
The Single Face of Work approach directly addresses the fundamental challenge utilities face: operational inefficiencies created by disconnected systems. Utilities lose an average of 20-30% of workforce capacity to system switching and data reconciliation. By bringing together enterprise asset management, field service management, and construction management on a single platform, our customers eliminate these costly handoffs while preserving specialized capabilities.
Building Tomorrow’s Infrastructure Today
What excites me most is how our customers are using KloudGin to build the utility systems of the future. They’re not just replacing legacy systems – they’re fundamentally changing how work gets done. As Lisa from the City of Waco put it: “Why go to a new system if you’re not planning on relooking and revisiting the way you do business now?”
This philosophy resonates deeply with our mission. At KloudGin, we’re enabling utilities and the public sector to break free from the “we’ve always done it this way” mentality. When Veolia, one of the world’s largest water and wastewater utilities, or Louisville Water, with its 1.3 million customers, chooses to standardize on KloudGin across all its operations, it is laying the foundation for a utility of the future.
Our field-first, cloud-native approach ensures that critical information reaches field crews when and where they need it most—during outages, with no cellular connection, in remote locations, or when responding to emergencies. This isn’t just about improving efficiency; it’s about building and supporting the resilient, responsive infrastructure our communities depend on.
A Community-Driven Future
The most exciting announcement from the KloudConnect User Group was the evolution of the User Group itself. We are thrilled to share that Brianne Ramsey of Snohomish County PUD has stepped up to become our first customer leader of KloudGin’s user community. This transition from vendor-led to customer-driven leadership represents a fundamental shift in how we collaborate and innovate together.Â

Having successfully led the Click Software North American user group for years, Brianne brings proven expertise in building vibrant forums where peers share best practices, collectively shape product roadmaps, and drive industry-wide innovation. Under customer leadership, KloudGin’s user community will become the primary voice guiding our strategic direction and development priorities moving forward.
This transition to a user-driven community represents everything our team has worked toward. Our customers don’t just use our software – they actively shape its evolution. They challenge us, inspire us, and help us build solutions that address real-world challenges across the utility industry.Â
The KloudGin Innovation Awards were just the beginning. The real recognition goes to every utility and public sector professional who sees beyond today’s limitations and works with us to build tomorrow’s solutions through the power of unified work and asset operations. The partnership we’re building isn’t just for today—it’s a foundation for lasting innovation that will benefit the industry for generations to come. And we are proud to be shaping that legacy together.
